What is a firewall?
A firewall stands between the Internet and your computer network, to constantly monitor the traffic flowing
through your Internet connection.
Firewalls also control remote access by mobile users, using of secure login procedures as part of your
Virtual Private Network configuration.
Modern firewalls do far more than just watch. They can also identify, block and report on any transmissions
that look unauthorised or unusual – including virus-generated traffic, hacking attempts, and traffic
generated by nasties like Trojans and spyware.
